More Effort Towards Multiagent Knapsack

چکیده

In this paper, we study two multiagent variants of the knapsack problem. Fluschnik et al. [AAAI 2019] studied model in which each agent expresses its preference by assigning a utility to every item. They three aggregation rules for finding subset (knapsack) items: individually best, diverse, and Nash welfare-based. Informally, diversity is achieved satisfying as many agents possible. Motivated application operators multiwinner elections, extend from diverse rule Median Best scoring functions. We computational parameterized complexity problem with respect some natural parameters, namely, number agents, items, distance an easy instance. also under domain restrictions. Furthermore, present significantly faster algorithms rule.

Towards a More Expressive and Refinable Multiagent System Engineering Methodology

In this paper, we improve and extend the MaSE methodology to bridge the gaps in this methodology. First, we propose an improvement process and, based on this process, we report the discovered gaps and weaknesses in the methodology during different phases of case study life cycle. For removing the reported weaknesses, we introduce a "Role Schema" to document roles properties and the "Knowledge M...

Towards Argumentation-based Multiagent Induction

In this paper we propose an argumentation-based framework for multiagent induction, where two agents learn separately from individual training sets, and then engage in an argumentation process in order to converge to a common hypothesis about the data. The result is a multiagent induction strategy in which the agents minimize the set of cases that they have to exchange (using argumentation) in ...

Towards Multiagent Meta-level Control

Embedded systems consisting of collaborating agents capable of interacting with their environment are becoming ubiquitous. It is crucial for these systems to be able to adapt to the dynamic and uncertain characteristics of an open environment. In this paper, we argue that multiagent meta-level control (MMLC) is an effective way to determine when this adaptation process should be done and how mu...

Dynamic Bundling: Less Effort for More Solutions

Bundling of the values of variables in a Constraint Satisfaction Problem (CSP) as the search proceeds is an abstraction mechanism that yields a compact representation of the solution space. We have previously established that, in spite of the effort of recomputing the bundles, dynamic bundling is never less effective than static bundling and nonbundling search strategies. Objections were raised...

Why Has Work Effort Become More Intense?

Effort-biased technological change and other explanations for work intensification are investigated. It is hypothesised that technological and organizational changes are one important source of work intensification and supportive evidence is found using establishment data for Britain in the 1990s. Work intensification has also been stimulated by the use of highcommitment human resource policies...
